The Most Common Causes of Car Accidents you should also be Aware Of

Car accidents are becoming very common and the causes are countless. There are several variables that play to cause car accidents. However, most of the accidents occur due to human error. Thousands of lives end in these fatal car accidents every year. Since human errors cause most of the accidents, it is of utmost importance that you should drive in a safe manner and observe the safety measures.

Driving under the influence- the DUI, or drunk driving cause accident when the driver is under the influence of drugs. It can also be a certain type of prescription. The DUI is considered a human error causing a car crash. So, if you just have had a drink, abstain from driving a car instead take a taxi or ask your sober friend to drive you home.

     2. Distracted Driving:

Driving while distracted, another human error while driving is one of the biggest cause of car crashes. The increased use of technological devices while driving leads to life-threatening accidents. The drivers don’t realize the consequences of using mobile phones, DVD players or other distractions hindering the focused driving. This also includes applying makeup or eating while driving. The urge of multitasking should be resisted at all costs during driving.

     3. Certain Medical Conditions:

There are a few medical conditions that lead to serious car accidents. For instance, heart attacks, strokes, seizures, poor vision, or falling asleep on the road. Medical conditions are not under the control of the driver, however, it is very important to consider the risk factors before driving the car. Driving aggressively also cause accidents and damages to property as well as to others. According to a study, nearly 100,000 collisions occur because the drivers are overly fatigued and tired.

     6. Over Speeding:

Apart from aggressive driving, over speeding is also one of the major causes of car collisions. When the driver breaks the traffic regulations, it doesn’t give the required reaction time to others to respond to the situation. This, in turn, increases the chances of collisions and serious accidents occur as a result. Drivers who over speed, are at higher risk of running into others.

     7. Mechanical Failure of the Vehicle:

Mechanical failure has several reasons some are under the control of the driver while others are not.

The biggest reason is the failure to maintain the vehicle.  When the car is not maintained properly it will definitely perform poor on the road and will cause accidents.      9. Weather:

Although, the weather is not under the control of the driver, however, it is still a big cause of road accidents. Moreover, still, the driver is held responsible for the accident when it comes to seeking compensation for the car accident. Factors such as excessive rain, dense fog, high winds, slick roads, and extreme temperatures damage the road. It creates potholes that damage the car and also lead to accidents.
